On January 1st, I embarked on a back-to-basics soul rejuvenation program.

I want to share this with you because at some point you may find yourself not feeling your usual happy–it can happen to even mostly happy people.

As many of you know 2019 was a draining year for me–if you are new to SOHP–it was filled with some soul jerking losses and changes.

It’s not that I didn’t have any happy moments in 2019–of course, I did. I just didn’t experience them as fully as I’d like to have. I didn’t want a repeat of that in 2020.

I realized that I needed to be proactive about filling my happiness tank to get my happy vibe back to it’s usual frequency.

So for the past 40+ days I’ve been:

  • Filling my mind with motivational books–on audio for me since I’m an audio learner
  • Meditating
  • Praying
  • Journaling
  • Forgiving
  • Limiting my discussions about pending decisions to very few people
  • Paying attention to my thoughts and feelings–even when I don’t like them
  • Counting my happy moments with our Happiness Counter (it’s in the resources section and SOHP app)

Happiness is a soulful experience or as I think of it the soulfulness of happiness.

While happiness is soulful, even spiritual, sometimes happy souls also need to have healthy boundaries regarding people who reduce your happy vibe. However, that’s the beauty about love, a type of happiness, you can love people from afar.

If you feel like you’re in a happiness funk, the reasons don’t matter, consider doing a happiness reset with a little soul rejuvenation.

Your mission should you choose to accept it this week is to:

Practice a little self-love this week.

Take a nap, enjoy a book with your favorite beverage, go to lunch or dinner with a friend, splurge on a massage or pedicure in anticipation of summer.

Loving others starts with loving you.

I set up this little meditation and prayer spot. I’ve found that meditation has definitely helped quiet my thoughts–and helps me sleep better.

Sometimes I just like listening to the water fountain while I’m working–so I included a short video in case it will make you smile too.

We have a new SOHP Subscriber Resource page with lots of the goodies for you to download.
