Welcome to my first video blog about the happiness of relief. I taped this last night, May 8, after a day of going to the doctor first thing in the morning for medicine for my sinus infection so let’s just say I don’t look so good. Someone actually said I looked like a ghost. However, my 2013 goal is to be my authentic self and today she was sick so vanity got left behind.
I watched a lot of news on Tuesday and one of the top stories was about the happiness of relief (which is one of our 31 Types of Happiness) and I wanted to share my thoughts. Video was a just little easier than typing so I hope you enjoy!
PS…if you want to learn more about the 31 Types of Happiness check out our Thirty-One Types of Happiness Guide ~ Did I mention it’s a perfect Mother’s Day or graduation gift and is available on several ereaders.

Perhaps the reason we don’t think about relief as a type of happiness is that sometimes it is attached to sadness.
When a loved one dies after years of illness, relief may be regarded as selfishness. It is not selfish. It’s normal and healthy. When the news you’ve been dreading arrives, there is a sense of relief that now the waiting is over and you can deal with facts instead of fears.
Relief in such cases is a healthy reaction that assists our survival by making the pain easier to bear. Feel it and be glad for it: you need it.
