Happiness Happens Day is August 8, 2016
In 1999 when the Secret Society of Happy People proclaimed August 8 as the first “Admit You’re Happy Day”, now called Happiness Happens Day, I really didn’t think 18 years later we’d still be celebrating, much less that it would grow to a month long celebration! Since I didn’t know how to make it an official celebration we requested proclamations from governors that were in office in 1999.
Today the celebration is a little more low key. We like to toast with pink lemonade or your other favorite beverage. Or if you want to cook, we link to a few pink lemonade recipes here.

In keeping with this year’s theme, #ISeeHappy when I see pink lemonade toasts. Please post your selfies with the #ISeeHappy hashtag on your social media sites and you might get a gift from us.
