You can answer the questions until we quit asking them:

Pamela Gail Johnson founded the Society of Happy People in 1998.
The Society is grounded on Pamela’s four key
Live and let live!
I have a one-a-day desk calendar with Zen quotes. I call it my Zen-a-day calendar. Anyway, the quote that I love and use often is attributed simply to “Rural American Zen”:
It is just as is. Ain’t no is’er.
also stated as, “what you see is what you get, nothing more, nothing less.”
The task ahead of me is never as great as the power behind me. I have that front and center on my desk.
I, er, borrowed it from someone so long ago that I forget who, but it goes something like this:
It’s never too late, in fiction or in life, to revise.
This one is from Mr.Rogers (Fred Rogers)
“If you can mention it, you can manage it.”
I’ve used it a lot as my opener to mention things I need to deal with. Thanks Fred 🙂
“There is nothing more important than family.”
either that, or
“There is no such thing as too many books; only too few shelves.”
Boy, this is a tough one as I have a few so it is hard to say, “this is the one.” So, I’m going to share a few:
“I can , I can , I can” = I used this with my daughters when they were little to help build self confidence when things got difficult- I still use it today
“Be Happy” I sign off on every email with this- even if I don’t feel happy, “fake it till you make it”
Lastly – You can catch more bees with honey than vinegar” No reason not to be nice to everyone
: )
“Some days you are the bug…and some days you are the windshield!!”
Maureen, I love that. I might start using it.
Trust God with everything.
It will all work out in the end.
Today I am here. So, here I am!
Carp diem
But for the Grace of God, there go I.
My motto is “Be Kind”
Whatever!
Go with the flow when you can.
Always start the day with a smile and end the day with a smile- In between lots of laughs.
Whatever!
Guess it’s a mantra more than a motto. But last year’s was “Awkward is the new normal”. This year, it’s “I embrace my brothers and reject the stigma of suicide”.
I know, the first one sounds more fun, but this is part of a healing process. It touches on Terry T’s (Mr. Rogers) quote, “If you can mention it, you can manage it”. It’s not always easy, but it is always better to bring troublesome issues out into the open”.
kindness matters
Keep on keepin on!
I love this quote by Will Rogers: “Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.”
My motto, which I have said to our grandkids many times, is “silly is our friend.” I think that speaks for itself.
Like Popeye, I am what I am.
Sing like no one is listening.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching,
and live like it’s heaven on earth.
With God, all things are possible.
My motto is: Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Just go with the flow. Worrying doesn’t solve anything, so just ride it out until it’s over and pick up from there
I actually have three I look at daily.
Mission Statement:
“Live every moment. Make every choice in every moment an act of love.”
Goal:
Just for today, don’t get angry. Don’t worry. Work hard. Be Grateful. Be kind to others.
$25K List:
Make a list of x things to do today. Prioritize it. Start at #1 and work through the list. Don’t go to #2 until #1 is done. Re-prioritize as needed.
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” Churchill
Can’t say I really have one. I guess I should think about what would make a good one.
If you want something: Ask! The worst answer you can ever get is just a “no”.
“Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. We are in charge of our attitudes.”
Do what you enjoy, even if others look at you askance. Sing goofy songs, wear multicolor wigs, dance in the rain!
It is never costs you anything to be kind. Meanness is very expensive.
Be yourself!
Be happy!
My motto is –“Be the change you want to see!”
Believe.
Dance like no one is watching.
When all else fails, sing.
Treat others as you want to be treated.
Hakuna Matata. I’ve been saying it for 2 decades now :()
Life is short.
One day at a time!
Do your best not matter what.
“Pray continuously. Be thankful in all things….”
It is what it is.
“No Surrender, no retreat.” They made a movie with this motto too.
“I’m not living at work, I’m working at living”
Live in The NOW life is to short to be unhappy
Lately — “Not my circus, not my monkeys” ….. a good way of saying that I’m not going to get swept up in everyone else’s drama, especially if there’s nothing I can do. My other one is “Every day is a fresh start!”
LOL, CaroG87, I love “not my circus, not my monkeys” too! and Shake and Bake!
Every Morning is a New Beginning and a chance Begin Again.
I agree with “Kindness Matters.”
This is something I have learned over the years…NEVER, EVER assume anything! It’s just not safe. I think this came from working with special needs children ’cause I couldn’t ever assume that they already knew something. So I just apply it to life with everyone!
When my kids were young, it was “don’t sweat the small stuff…and it’s all small”. Now it is Peace and Blessings.
Just do it and get ‘er done!
Nice Matters – (well – because it does!!) and “get up- Thank God you have another day-now how much fun can we cram in these 24hrs?” (as you see I don’t want my last memory to be of vacuuming – ergo it is not “…how much cleaning we can cram in today!” hahaha)
“Don’t worry. Be Happy!”
No matter what, Life is Good!
I need a Plan B
Keep swimming!
Just one? Here are some favourites:
“Work like you don’t need the money, love like you’ve never been hurt, and dance like you do when nobody’s watching.”
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
“Life is about using the whole box of crayons.”
“You’re braver than you beleive, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
“Success is a staircase, not a doorway.”
“If ‘plan a’ doesn’t work, stay cool. There are 25 more letters in the alphabet!”
“The difference between ‘try’ and ‘triumph’ is just a little ‘umph’!”
“Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
“One step forward and two steps back is not a failure. It’s a cha-cha.”
No drama – and keep it kind.
Do the right thing no matter what else happens..
I have two, one from my mom – “Take one day at a time” and one from my dad – “This, too, shall pass.” I can still hear them saying those words to me many years later and they give me comfort when I am stressed.
“Always look on the bright side of life” (whistle). LOL You just can’t beat Monty Python as a life motto!
Today is going to be the best day of my life!
“You gotta do different to get different” is one, and the other is “You do what you got to do, so you can do what you want to do”. First one is mine, second quote courtesy of Denzel Washington.
All shall be well, all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well. Julian of Norwich
Like Sue, above,…..I have journals and journals of my favorite quotes/mottos…here’s probably one of my favs. “I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from my experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends up our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” Martha Washington
My motto is one I share with my little-bit-younger sister. We both “fart rainbows and flowers”. In other words, we find the fun or funny in whatever situation we find ourselves. We prefer the glass half full attitude.
