When the Secret Society of Happy People originally hosted our first Happiness Happens Day on August 8th we had several teachers contact us saying, “Kids need happiness too and we aren’t in school in August.” We listened and started Hunt for Happiness Week the 3rd week of January in 2001. A school counselor create special activities for kids that are age appropriate and are at our web site (link above).
Some of you are thinking, “Why do we need to hunt for happiness?” Well, sometimes even the happiest people need a happiness booster. After the holidays, the winter weather sets in and sometimes we have to make an extra effort to recognize our happy moments.
This year I’m excited that we’ll have a new post each day during Hunt for Happiness Week that will in your happiness journey. If you’re already happy, they may help you become a little happier. We’ll even have guest bloggers on some of the days.
One of my favorites is the I-Spy Coupons that you can give co-workers, strangers or whoever you see having a happy moment. Sometimes we forget how easy it is to find a little happiness just by enjoying the happiness of others.
As always, if you need to find more happy moments, check out the Secret Society of Happy Peoples Thirty-One Types of Happiness Guide — it’s short and will help give you a happiness booster. It’s available at the Society store, Amazon and on several ereaders.

Imagine a world with fewer unhappy adults … 🙂

I think this is a great Pamela Sue, especially for children. The Happy I-Spy Coupons is a novel idea too, as are some of your other plans foe the Hunt for Happiness week. Now I’m happy 🙂
Hope you get to join us … there’s a word search too.
Great ideas! So easy to get caught up in life and forget all the things that we have to be happy about.
It’s usually the small things that make us happiest.
