One moment I was eating turkey, and the next moment I woke up and it was OMG it’s December 1.
Is anyone else feeling the rush of losing a pre-Christmas week this year?
Last year Thanksgiving was early so we had an extra week before Christmas and the New Year.
I’m just now decorating my tree, which is usually done the Friday after Thanksgiving. In addition to losing the week, I think my 3 dental procedures in 8 days — yes, starting the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, slowed me down a bit. And that’s why SOHP Weekly is a little late.
However, if you’re feeling the rush don’t forget to get your gift from me: 5 Steps to Simplify Your Holidays Guide — it’s filled with tips and worksheets to help you get everything done, and maybe minimize a bit of stress so you can have more holiday happy.
The holidays aren’t always happy for everyone. This year between losing Tater, my aunt, and apparently bone in my gums, I’m more holiday blue than holly jolly.
This will pass, but I need to feel the unhappy so my normal happy returns. Grief is an alone journey, even when you are surrounded by people who love you.
Here’s a piece I wrote a few years ago, that’s also helpful for holiday happy people to read because we all know someone who’s feeling the holiday blues: When Holiday Blues Take Away From Your Holly Jolly
Again, thank you for all the cups of coffee. It’s a smile starter for me and everyone who receives SOHP Weekly! If our new e-pub, SOHP Weekly, makes you smile consider Buying Us a Cup of Coffee, too!!
Wishing you peace, luv & lots of smiles,
Pamela Gail
Your mission should you choose to accept it this week is to:
Kick-off the holiday season trying a new holiday beverage
Maybe it’s something at a favorite coffee shop, a new flavor of tea,
an adult beverage at your favorite happy hour spot,
or one of those yummy recipes you find on social media.
Here’s one I keep seeing and want to try…
if you do — let me know if it’s as delicious as it looks.
My holiday blues almost influenced me to not have my outside lights hung this year.
However, I knew some of my neighbors wanted me to decorate — so that pushed me to do up the outside.
Well, the second night they were up one of my neighbors posted this pic of her son sitting with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
Apparently he told Santa what he wanted for Christmas — after he put Santa’s arm around him.
When I saw that post I smiled big…it made me really happy that I decorated.
Sometimes we can borrow the happiness of others when our usually happy is in a recharge mode.
