Happiness Happens Month all started because we started with the idea to celebrate happiness for a day. The first Happiness Happens Day happened on August 8, 1999 when we got our first member from Topeka, Kansas. By first member, I mean it was someone I didn’t personally know. It was a very happy moment for me … you know the kind I was practically doing cartwheels.
Today, we celebrate for a whole month, but the day itself is special because it’s our birthday so to speak.
To celebrate we have lots of ideas on our website. But we also host HappyThon2013 to get people chatting about happiness online. We encourage people to send 6 messages to everyone in their social media networks, with text, or emails. One day we’ll achieve the dream of happiness being a trending topic but we need your help to make this happiness happen.
Ask questions about what makes your connections happy. Encourage them to ask their connections that same thing. Share your type of happiness with our 31 Types of Happiness Happicons.
If you want more celebration ideas either follow me and you can share the things I’m sharing. Or become a Happiness Happens Month Ambassador and get access to our secret site with extra celebration tools likes Facebook and Google+ covers, quotes, and tweets to make your happy shares more personal. Or search the #HappinessHappens hashtag on your favorite social media network.
Here’s just a preview of the posts we’ll be sharing and the tools in our Ambassador site:
In keeping with the Happiness Happens theme if you make a comment about how you’re celebrating the day or month, you’ll be entered into a drawing for surprise Society prizes.
Also, if you check out the blog 3 Keys to Your Happiness & Personal Message you can get a gift from Claire until Happiness Happens Day.
I think I was born for stuff like this. Being happy is a choice that I make daily. Sharing it with others, especially on social media sites just sweetens the pot!
My daughter’s birthday falls on August 8th so every year for the last three years we’ve celebrated Happiness Happens Day by celebrating her! This year, we are also welcoming an inner-city child into our home for one week and she arrives on August 8th. Not only do we get to celebrate what we love every day (being happy!), but we get to share our happiness with someone else!!
I’ve been having such a great time on Happiness Happens month! I have lots of reasons to celebrate, lots of reasons to be happy. Today, I’m celebrating my 16th anniversary, deeply in love. We had rain last week in Texas, so all of the rose bushes in our hard are covered with new blooms. One of the climbing roses has climbed high enough outside our bathroom window that I can see the blooms as I get ready in the morning. And I have a fantastic job working for author Susan Mallery, whose latest book came out last week, and all signs indicate that it’s going to hit the bestsellers lists tomorrow. Life is good!
By the way, I adore the “Happiness is as happiness does” pic! Can’t wait to share that one!
Happiness is infectious. I will Seek, embrace, generate, precipitate, facilitate and promote happiness, and spread joy, happiness, laughter and smile.
